Vietnamese Prime Minister Chairs Meeting on Education Reform

Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, chairman of the National Committee for Education and Training Reform, chaired the session of the Committee on "Reform and Development of Preschool Education until 2030, with a Vision to 2045" in Hanoi on April 4, local media reported.

After ten years of implementing Resolution on fundamental and comprehensive reform of education to meet the requirements of industrialization and modernization in the context of socialist orientation market economy and international integration, the cause of fundamental and comprehensive reform of education has achieved many positive results, PM Chinh rated.

However, preschool education still lacks attention and development to the proper level, especially in remote and mountainous areas, where there are many workers and laborers, he added.

Preschool education needs to continue its fundamental reform roadmap to ensure comprehensive innovation in line with the Party's and State's directives, he highlighted.

He asked Committee members to focus on discussing "Reform and development of preschool education until 2030 and vision to 2045" to implement the Party's resolutions, while noting that programs and plans must have long-term thinking, strategic vision, but also be phased and suitable for the country's circumstances and conditions at each period.

Vietnam has set the goal of completing universal preschool education for children aged from three to five by 2030.
