Vietnam Preserves Cultural Diversity among Ethnic Minorities: Ambassador

Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, permanent representative of Vietnam to the United Nations (UN), underscored that Vietnam attaches great importance to preserving and promoting diverse cultural identities of different nations, considering this is an important factor to ensure peace, stability, and sustainable development. She made the remarks at a Friday [December 1] conference of the Non-Aligned Movement on human rights and cultural diversification at the UN headquarter in New York. She hailed the conference’s approval of a Political Declaration and Action Plan, highlighting the movement’s basic values of solidarity, tolerance, dialogue, and cooperation. She said Vietnam supports dialogues and cooperation between countries on the basis of mutual respect and not interfering in each other’s internal affairs, emphasizing the importance of an equal and comprehensive approach that protects and promotes human rights.
