Vietnam Hanoi to Spend $66.15M on Domestic Wastewater Treatment

Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi will implement a VND1.29 trillion ($66.15 million) project to build systems of domestic wastewater collection and treatment, using official development assistance (ODA) loans from the French government. Under the project, a system of wastewater collection and a wastewater treatment station with a daily capacity of 40,000 cu.m will be built in Ha Dong district, benefiting 116,000 locals, state media reported. A similar system and station with a capacity of treating 18,000 cu.m of wastewater for 53,000 locals per day will be located in Son Tay town. Residents, companies and hospitals in the city are estimated to discharge nearly 458,000 cubic meters of wastewater a day, with 41% of the volume is household wastewater, 57% industrial wastewater and 2% medical one.
