Vietnam Adds 15 Addictive Substances to Medical List of Restricted Use

The Vietnamese government has recently approved a decision to add 15 addictive substances into List II of “addictive drugs that should be in restricted use for analysis, research, and criminal investigation by competent agencies.” The substances are: 25B-NBOMe; 25C-NBOMe; 25I-NBOMe; 2C-H; 5-Meo-DiPT; 5-MeO-MiPT; AH-7921; AM-2201; JWH-018; JWH-073; JWH-250; MDPV; Mephedrone; Methylone; and XLR-11. On the sideline, the government also added two substances: Alpha-phenyl acetoacetonitrile (APAAN) and Gamma-butyro lactone (GBL) to List IV of “substances use to produce addictive drugs”. The government also changed List III into “Addictive substances can be use in analysis, research, and criminal investigation by competent agencies.” Meanwhile, Vietnam is very strict with addictive substances.
