UNICEF Well Supports AO/Dioxin Children in Danang

Chief Representative of the UN Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) in Vietnam Youssouf Abdel Jelil visited the Center for the Support of Agent Orange/dioxin Victims and Disadvantaged Children in Danang city on Feb 23. At the working session, he affirmed that he had the honour of serving the term of Chief Representative of UNICEF in Vietnam and was touched after enjoying art performances by the center’s children. The official also pledged to continue associating with the center in taking care of disadvantaged children and those who are exposed to the toxic chemical in the city, and helping them integrate into the society. Since 2009, the UN’s fund has financed VND8.5 billion to the Danang Association for AO/dioxin Victims, particularly VND462 million this year. In turn, Chairwoman of the association Nguyen Thi Hien hoped that they would receive more practical assistance from UNICEF in the coming time.
