How to apply?

Applicants are requested to complete the CFLI Application Form for Project Funding in either English, French or Vietnamese and to submit their proposal package to: [email protected] no later than 15 November 2016. (Applicants are encouraged to submit earlier if possible).

The proposal package should include:
·       Application for project funding by the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives – Only those proposals using the indicated application form will be considered.
·       Letter of support from relevant authorities (submission at a later stage but prior to agreement signing is acceptable);
·       Letter of commitment from the implementing organization (submission at a later stage but prior to agreement signing is acceptable).

CFLI staff will contact applicants of short-listed projects to provide further guidance on procedures.

Selection Criteria

The proposal must demonstrate that:

·       It does not include any research elements, overseas costs, or the core operations or recurrent costs of the organization;
·       It is fully supported by local authorities and a needs assessment was completed;
·       The project considers gender equality and environmental sustainability throughout the entire project process (in project design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation);
·       The local community has been involved in the project design, and will be involved in all aspects of the project, including in the decision-making process;
·       The expected results are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time bound;
·       The participants and their roles in the project are clearly identified;
·       It is financially, operationally, and environmentally sustainable; and
·       It is cost-effective and contains a contribution from the recipient organization.

The applicant must demonstrate that it:

·       Has the organizational, financial management and implementation capacity to achieve the project’s expected results and ensure the sustainability thereof;
·       Is registered in Vietnam and has the support of relevant local authorities; and
·       Has a demonstrated track record/experience in the proposed area of activity or has worked previously with the target group.
