POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position: Wildlife Crime Unit Team Leader
Location: Hanoi, Vietnam
Reports to: Chief Technical Advisor
Term: One year minimum

 

The Wildlife Crime Unit Team Leader is a volunteer position that includes a monthly stipend (equivalent to Vietnamese staff team-leader salary).The Wildlife Crime Unit Team Leader will be responsible for the overall supervision of the ENV Wildlife Crime Unit (WCU) including operation of the National Wildlife Crime Hotline, ENV’s online Incident Tracking System, and compliance monitoring system.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Supervise up to 8 WCU staff

  • Oversee day-to-day running of the WCU

  • Assist with management of crime database

  • Hiring, training, and capacity building of WCU staff

  • Daily communications to the WCU manager

  • Coordinate and report on activities of the crime unit

  • Administration tasks, daily/monthly report writing, and donor report writing

Special Projects

  • Research, analysis, and reporting

  • Develop and supervise crime reduction campaigns

  • Other duties and special assignments as assigned by the Chief Technical Advisor

REQUIREMENTS

  • Native English speaker

  • 2 - 5 years of supervisory and management experience (Mandatory)

  • 2 - 5 years report writing (Mandatory)

  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Ability to pay close attention to details

  • Strong research and analytical skills

  • A passion for wildlife conservation

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Ability to think critically and proactively

  • Strong multitasking and time management skills
