Volunteers for new students: From September 2016 to January 2017 or/and from February 2017 to June 2017

Passerelles numériques Vietnam

Who we are:

• Passerelles numériques (PN) is a non-profit organization, based in The Philippines, Cambodia and Vietnam. We enable young underprivileged people to build their employability through education in the digital industry. Our program allows them and their family to escape poverty in a sustainable way, and contribute to the social and economic development of their country.

• The training curriculum covers 4 parts: IT, English, Soft Skills and Education. Our 100 students are split into 4 classes of first year and second year.

• The volunteers will be needed to handle this training:
  
  • At least 1 native speaker volunteer who will handle English Clubs from September 2016 to January 2017 or/and from February 2017 to June 2017
  • At least 1 volunteer who will handle  Soft Skills training from September 2016 to November 2016

  They will be accompanied with local staff and Danang College of Technology teachers. The classes will be conducted in classrooms and laboratories approved by PNV training manager.

Responsibilities

The content and outline of the training will be provided by PN Training team:

• Ahead of the mission, collaborate with the PN Training Team and other volunteers on the content of the lessons
• Take the time to read the content of the training ahead of the mission, start to prepare his/her classes, and give feedbacks to improve the training dynamics with the students
• During the mission, to prepare the classes every day with other volunteers and local staff
• For native speaker volunteers: Deliver the classes 2 hours every week for English clubs. Report to Passerelles numériques Vietnam staff on the students: their level, group – work skills as well as their behavior or attitude etc.

• For other volunteers:
  
  • Deliver classes 6 hours per week for Soft skills training
  • Assist Soft skills trainer in all aspects of planning lessons in and out of the classroom, including preparing materials and resources.
  • Work with Soft skills trainer to monitor students during the class time, give feedback to the trainer to ensure that students receive the most effective support.
  • Perform other simple tasks as required.
