Translator/Interpreter

Animals Asia Foundation is a Hong Kong-based government-registered animal welfare charity founded by Jill Robinson MBE in 1998. It is devoted to the needs of wild, domesticated and endangered species throughout Asia and dedicated to ending cruelty and restoring respect for all animals. In Vietnam, Animals Asia has signed an agreement with the Government of Vietnam to establish a world class Vietnam Bear Rescue Centre in Tam Dao National Park, Vinh Phuc Province. Our primary goals are to end bear farming, contribute to the conservation of bears in Vietnam and in the region and improve the welfare of such bears already in captivity.

Animals Asia is recruiting a Vietnamese National for the Translator/Interpreter position to be based in Hanoi.

Location: Hanoi, Vinh Phuc Province.

Type: Full time

Term: 3 months.

Salary: 400 USD gross per month with other benefits.

Description of duties:

- Interpret (English into Vietnamese and vice versa) during work activities, meetings, workshops or field trips.
- Translation of work materials from English to Vietnamese and vice versa.

Qualifications & Personal Requirements:

- University graduate, at least one year of relevant work experience in English speaking environment. Recent graduates with exceptional English skills will be considered.
- Demonstrated excellent interpretation and translation skills.
- Able to travel and work outside Hanoi if the work requires.
- Knowledge of animal welfare, wildlife conservation will be an asset.
