Save the Children started our work in Vietnam in 1990, and implements programs in the key thematic areas: Education, Health and Nutrition, Child Protection, Child Rights and Governance, Child Poverty, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Emergency Response. At present, Vietnam Country Office has programs in 20 out of 63 provinces in Vietnam.

In Viet Nam, SC has been successful in providing appropriate skills to disadvantaged migrant youth leading to their successful placement to regular jobs, apprenticeship and self-employment. We have an established partnership with relevant government agencies at both national and local levels and relationship with key local companies. Through Global Grant 5 (GG5) funding stream, we would like to broaden our endeavor for the benefits of disadvantaged youth in the three cities: Da Nang, Can Tho and Bien Hoa - Dong Nai.

We are looking for a Training Consultant.

Objectives: In order to better support training activities for youth in vocational schools and young workers in factories and industrial zones so that they will be more competitive and secure in the job market, the project will build up a network of trainers to provide Employability Skills training. This will include an employability skills curriculum developed by Save the Children and covering six domains: Positive Self-Concept, Self-Control, Social Skills, Communication Skills, Higher-Order Thinking, and Job Search Skills that will be the basis of the three employability skills TOTs to be conducted for 75 trainers in the three locations: Da Nang, Can Tho, Bien Hoa.

The TOT will equip trainers with the required knowledge and skills to train the youth mentioned above.  The TOT will also address key principles and techniques in working with youth so that trainers can ensure appropriate approaches in bringing positive changes in attitudes, behaviours and skills of in school youth so that they will have and sustain decent employment.

Key competencies:

  • Excellent at all English skills
  • Experienced in developing and delivering soft skill training
  • Experienced in conducting training of trainers
  • Good in using interactive approaches in training
  • Experience in working with youth or enterprises will be a privilege
  • Good in motivating participants to learn and can convey the approach to inspire participants to apply the knowledge and skills.
