Senior Technical Officer, HIV Care and Treatment

FHI 360 is an international, non-governmental organization that works with the Vietnam Ministry of Health, provincial health services, and local non-government organizations to promote the health and well-being of the Vietnamese people, particularly vulnerable and marginalized populations. In Vietnam, FHI 360 is currently building the capacity of local organizations in HIV prevention, care & treatment, drug treatment policy, and drug treatment practice.

We are currently seeking qualified, experienced, and highly motivated candidates to work in our HIV Care & Treatment programs, Hochiminh City: Senior Technical Officer, HIV Care and Treatment

Main responsibilities and essential qualifications:

• Develop and update training materials for HIV/AIDS care, support, and treatment, including antiretroviral therapy (ART), prevention and management of HIV/Tuberculosis (TB) co-infection, HIV/HCV/HBV co-infection, drug interactions, integration of ART with methadone maintenance services, and Sexual Transmitted Infections (STI) for people living with HIV (PLHIV).

• Organize and lead provincial clinical training conferences and workshops on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and other related clinical areas

• Provide clinical technical assistant to provincial and district HIV/AIDS and TB health facilities including on-site mentoring and training

• Work with international and Vietnam government partners on national SOPs, job aides, monitoring tools for implementation of national and provincial health programs

• Work with local partners including provincial aids committees, provincial health services, and TB departments to support and strengthen coordination between prevention, HTC, care & treatment, STI, and TB services for most-at-risk groups (e.g., sex workers, MSM, transgender, and injection drug users).

• Support clinical and operational research teams to identify and design research studies and pilot innovative interventions

• Medical doctor, preferably with social science background, preferably a Master’s degree in social sciences or public health

• Two years professional experience or comparable in providing medical care, preferably to people living with HIV. Demonstrated skills and knowledge in holistic and client-centered care.

• Knowledge on and experience in epidemiology and clinical management in resource-poor settings with PLHIV would be advantageous.

Job location: FHI 360 Hochiminh City Office with frequent travel to program provinces.

General requirements for all positions:

• Extensive knowledge and experience in health education and development programs in Vietnam.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to prioritize and respond in a timely manner to stakeholders.

• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge in a culturally sensitive manner.

• Excellent written and oral communication in both Vietnamese and English.

• Computer literate with strong skills in use of MS office package (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint...)
