Senior Child Protection Officer

Good Neighbors is an international, non-profit humanitarian organization that plans, implements and raises funds for the provision of services in child education, community development, health, sanitation, and disaster relief projects. Currently Good Neighbors has been operating in 30 countries, supporting approximately 16.8 million people, including 9.6 million children.

Good Neighbors International in Vietnam (GNI) is implementing Community Development Projects (CDP) based on child sponsorship in 3 provinces; Tuyen Quang, Hoa Binh, and Thanh Hoa. GNI is working in main areas such as child sponsorship and education, water and sanitation, income generation, etc. in 9 CDPs and is managing 9,569 sponsored children.

1. KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

GNI’s Donors, Partners, Governmental Officials, INGOs, Communities

2. MAIN DUTIES

1. Be the focal point of child case management of GNI
2. Support partners and communities in the development and implementation of local child protection systems
3. Facilitate capacity building of partners and community people, including children, on child protection
4. Liaise closely with Government and Civil Society to ensure the protection of children.
5. Make regular trips to the field to support and monitor programs
6. Facilitate children’s active participation in the projects and processes of the child protection work
7. Support in developing funding proposals and writing donor reports if required.
8. Work with community and partner to develop detailed implementation plans and periodic work implementation plans of the project and prepare agreement with partners if needed
9. Be responsible for internal development and reporting, and budget management according to organizational demands.

3. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Education

• University degree or higher in Social work or Counselling or relevant fields
• Work experience
• At least 3 years relevant working experience
• Experience and skills of child protection, child case management, including counselling, staff management and partnership;
• NGO or counselling centre (Youth centre) working experience is preferable;

Skills

• Ability to gather and analyse statistical data and generate reports
• Good English language skills in writing & speaking;
• Good skill in computer use (Microsoft office)
• Ability to work independently and with the team;
• Good organizing skills and interpersonal skills;
