Project Officer

Agronomes and Veterinaires Sans Frontieres (AVSF) is an INGO working in Vietnam since 2000, our activity focus on (i) supporting the poor farmers living in the  remote, difficult and upland areas, reducing poverty sustainably through development of small- scale animal production, (ii) strengthening veterinary services and animal contagious diseases prevention and (iii) and supporting small scale farmer in sustainable agriculture development in terms of urbanization and climate change adaptation. Since 2012,  in the framework of decentralize-cooperation between RHONE ALPES region– FRANCE and HO CHI MINH City – VIET NAM , AVSF in collaboration with the HCMC Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to implement  the project  "Support for Sustainable Agriculture Development in the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City - RRA". The Project has received the official approval for continual phase in 2016 with focus on the following 4 components:

1. Improving livestock and farming productivity and sustainability development in household.
2. Strengthening of local agriculture/veterinary services.
3. Improving livestock and farming systems’ impact on the environment
4. Capitalizing experiences and Sharing with related partners

AVSF Viet Nam is recruiting 01 Project Officer

Working time:

A working contract of 8 months in Cu Chi district, Ho Chi Minh City (starting May 2016 up to December 31, 2016) with possible extension.

Job Description:

The Project Officer is expected to:

• Coordinate the activities of RRA project in Cu Chi, Ho Chi Minh City
• Work with collaboration with Project Coordinator to build project planning
• Work with internship from France in-depth surveys and need assessment
• Enhance agriculture/ veterinary services and small scale livestock and farming development through preparation of materials plus organization of training courses, study tours…
• Consult and support in construction of Biodigesteur

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in a relevant field (preferably business development, agro-economy, animal health, plant protection, environement or community development…);
• Experience in working with local government agencies (district and commune levels)
• High energy and responsibility.
• Ability to work under challenging circumstances with minimum supervision and with diverse groups of stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• Sufficient English or French skills for reading and writing.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office processing: outlook, word, excel and power point.
• Humility, respect, and care for others – especially the vulnerable farmer

Remuneration:

Remuneration will be offered in accordance to candidate’s competence and work experience. Besides, Social insurance and other benefits, i.e.: accident insurance, mobile charges… will also be covered
