RECRUITMENT FOR PROJECT MANAGER

Good Neighbors is an international, non-profit humanitarian organization that plans, implements and raises funds for the provision of services in child education, community development, health, sanitation, and disaster relief projects. Currently Good Neighbors has works in 37 countries, supporting approximately 17 million people, including about 10 million children.

Good Neighbors International in Vietnam (GNI) is implementing Community Development Projects (CDP) based on child sponsorship in 4 provinces; Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Hoa Binh, and Thanh Hoa. GNI in Vietnam sponsors about 10,000 children and implements community development projects (CDP) in education, water & sanitation, income generation sectors in 6 different areas of Vietnam.

Reports to: Country Director, General Manager, SSD Manager, OD and AD-FD Junior Managers.    

Location: Ha Giang province

Type of contract: Full time

1. KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Internal: Country Director, General Manager, Managers and Team Leaders in Head Office (HO), Officers in HO, PMs in CDPs   

External: Communities

2. MAIN DUTIES

  • Administration- Human Resources Management
    • Set up the office and appropriate working place of each division and staff;
    • Update and comply laws related to organization operation and administrative forms; monitor and support staffs to adhere;
    • Understand and comply with GNI’s regulations on child protection and management;
    • Control staffs working hours and leave status;
    •  Manage office’s assets and equipment;
    • Assist HR Team in HO in recruiting project staffs (developing job descriptions, preparing advertisements, checking application form, short listing and interviewing if required);
    • Give guidance for new staffs;
    • Provide trainings for subordinates;
    • Maintain personnel databases (files record and hard copy);
    • Report to HO any modification and/or when required.
  • Project Operation Management
    • Understand and keep track of Plan of Action ’s (POA) activities;
    • Understand and keep track of project procedures and forms;
    • Implement all project activities
    • Manage and supervise project progress;
    • Provide technical guidance for subordinates during project implementation;
    • Report project progress for Managers of Operation Division, Sponsorship Service Division in HO;
    • Maintain electronic and hard copy filing system of the project;
  • Finance Management
    • Understand and keep track of financial concept;
    • Understand and keep track of finance regulations and forms and support for subordinates to adhere;
    • Manage project budget in accordance with POA (receipts and expenses, budget installment, unspent budget and action plan….);
    • Monthly check Cash Journal, Petty Cash and Budget installment reports.
    • Monitor and Supervise project’s financial activities;
    • Report to HO any modification and/or when required.
  • Public Relation
    • Establish and maintain good relationship with partners, community and donors;
    • Co-ordinate with partners in organizing meetings and workshops;
    • Provide technical guidance to partners if needed to ensure the smooth and effectiveness of project implementation. 
    • Other tasks if required.

3. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Education:

  • University degree or higher.    

Work experience:

  • Experience in office administrator responsibilities, systems and procedures and finance foundation. 
  • Experience in management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Experience in leadership, management, interpersonal/social and multi-cultural understanding/sensitivity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • NGO working experience is preferable
  • Skills:
    • Ability to work independently and with the team;
    • Ability to work under pressure.
    • Good organizing skills and interpersonal skills;
    • Good skill in computer use: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Email
    • Good at English , both verbally and in writing;   
  • Attitude:
    • Sociable, responsive, committed working with GNI at least 2 years
    • Friendly, honestly and hard working
    • Teamwork
