Project Field Manager - Community Health Awareness Project

The Kenan Institute Asia (Kenan), a leading not-for-profit development organization headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand that conducts a wide range of economic and social development activities in Southeast Asia (see www.kenan-asia.org), is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Project Field Manager to manage day to day project operations on a large-scale Community Health Awareness Project in Thanh Hoa province, Vietnam.

The Project Field Manager will be based in Thanh Hoa and will support the Chief of Party in monitoring the project implementation and managing the project stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter, able to work with limited oversight in a multicultural environment. He/she will have a passion for development with a strong desire to succeed in business development. The ability to multi-task, meet client demands and deadlines, as well as prioritize among competing priorities are also essential skills for the successful candidate.

Overall responsibility:

  • Responsible for coordinating with the client, project personnel and local partners to carry out project activities, providing administration and logistic arrangements required for training, forums and consulting assignments, supporting monitoring and financial management, and participating in project technical developments and activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project field activities and work closely with stakeholders in planning and implementing activities as approved.
  • Oversee administration and logistic arrangements.
  • Manage the project’s expenses in Thanh Hoa.
  • Support project monitoring and evaluation.
  • Establish, develop, and manage partnerships, and provide support and capacity building to stakeholders.
  • Compile documents and reports.
  • Oversee one project officer in Thanh Hoa.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Degree in business administration, development, public health, or a related development-focused field; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years working experience in public health and communication management.
  • Experience working with companies, government counterparts, and community members.
  • Relevant experience in project consulting or management.
  • Excellent English and Vietnamese communication skills.

Compensation: US$1,000 to 1,500 per month (based on experience).

This is a temporary 5 to 6 month position, with the possibility of a 2.5 year extension, based on the project’s success.
