Project Accountant

ADDA is a Danish NGO founded in March 1994 in order to meet the need for rural development through agricultural education in Cambodia and Vietnam. ADDA has been working in Vietnam since March 1999, having implemented seven projects and currently working on three in close collaboration with local partners. ADDA aims to assist with improving the level of self-sufficiency for the poorest parts of the rural population. In Vietnam the main focus is on ethnic minorities in the Northern Provinces. ADDA Vietnam is currently looking for a qualified Vietnamese to fill in Accountant position. The position is short term position for 8 months. The position is full time from 1st December 2016 - 31 July 2017.

Duty station: This position will be mainly based in Hanoi with travel to project sites.

The Accountant will work under the direct supervision of the Country Representative of ADDA.

The main duties and responsibilities will be and not limited to:

  • Contact to Bank and responsible for various Transfers
  • Checking Bank Accounts
  • Maintain the project and office accounts (Journal, General Ledger...)
  • Preparing accounts and reconciling balance sheets;
  • Providing and interpreting financial information from the projects
  • Prepare monthly salary sheet; social insurance (SI),health insurance (HI) and unemployment insurance (UI) documents and personal income tax (PIT) procedures
  • Overseeing budgetary control
  • Monitoring cash flow;
  • Assist Auditors in revision of accountancy.
  • Assessing the financial implications of new or existing ventures;
  • Supervising other staff on budgetary matters and expenses from project provinces
  • Establish and maintain electronic and paper copy filing systems for Project documents; ensure filing is up to date by the end of each week
  • Establish routine maintenance schedules for office facilities and equipment, and ensure maintenance and repairs are carried out promptly when required
  • Maintain back-up copies of all computer files according to requirements in the Project Manual
  • Prepare Project correspondence; format, photocopy, and bind reports to a high level of presentation quality
  • Keep records of correspondence and other communications (phone, fax, e-mail)
  • Keep contacts to partners and stakeholders
  • Perform any other duties as and when assigned by the ADDA representative

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • University degree in finance, accounting or economics or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of working experience
  • Proficiency in using of Microsoft office tools
  • Familiar with using Quickbook software
  • Demonstrated team spirit, and independent skills
  • Good English skills
