Programme Coordinator

Bread for the World (BfdW) is a German non-governmental church-based organisation, founded in 1959. BfdW has been working in Vietnam since 1996 in the sectors of rural development, ethnic minorities, food security, overcoming violence and HIV/Aids.
The office of BfdW in Hanoi is seeking applications from qualified candidates for the position of Programme Coordinator Vietnam

Scope of work:
- Assistance to BfdW partner organisations in identifying, planning, implementing, reporting, monitoring and evaluating their development projects
- Support of potential partner organisations in their project planning and preparation of project proposals
- Assessment of the quality of submitted project proposals and project reports in comparison to the BfdW-standards and assistance in improving and adapting them to BfdW-standard requirements
- Preparation of approval documents based on partners’ proposals
- Administrative closure of projects including elaboration of official closure documents based on BftW-standards
- Regular communication with and visits of partners
- Support of partner organisations in assessing their management, organisational and human resources development needs and in improving their respective organisational expertise
- Support of partner organisations in their assessment and documentation of project impacts at different levels, eventually in cooperation with local consultants
- Contribution to the annual and strategic planning of BfdW

Requirements:
- University degree, preferably in agricultural or environmental studies, social or political sciences, education or economics
- At least 5 years of work experience in the development cooperation sector, especially in NGOs and community/civil society groups
- Good understanding of the work of Vietnamese NGOs and mass organisations and experiences in cooperating with them
- Experiences in building partnerships with local partners
- Good understanding of rural development, ethnic minorities and gender issues
- Excellent project management, communication and team work skills
- Monitoring and evaluation experiences are highly desired
- Good command of the Vietnamese, English and German language (in writing and speaking)
- Good computer skills  (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Internet)
- Flexibility, adaptability, being proactive and a good teamplayer

Terms of appointment:
The Programme Coordinator will be appointed according to the staffing policy of the BfdW office in Hanoi. The attractive remuneration package will be based on the candidate’s work experience and qualification.
