PSI currently seeks a motivated & experienced Program Manager to work full-time with our dynamic, results-oriented team in Hanoi:

Job Title: Program Manager

Job summary: The Program Manager will work closely with PSI’s Health Services, Product Social Marketing , Behavior Change Communication and Research teams as well as with provincial partners in Binh Phuoc, Gia Lai, Dak Nong, Quang Binh, Dak Lak and other rural provinces to provide guidance to inform efforts to engage private sector outlets and channels to contribute to the national goal of eliminating malaria by 2030. The incumbent will lead efforts to build capacity and commitment among private providers—including registered private clinics, pharmacies, worksites and non-health outlets accessible to forest goers at risk of malaria—to provide improve access to quality malaria and other essential rural health services. He/she will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of malaria proramming are consistent with national guidelines and international best practices, including overseeing the development of service delivery protocols, training and other quality assurance plans/tools, as well as provider and consumer communication to improve access to and motivate use of test-treat-track behaviors. The Program Manager will be responsible for representing PSI with key national, regional and provincial partners to ensure that all malaria programming is designed, implemented and monitored in a highly consultative manner.

Major duties:

  • Lead the design, implementation and monitoring of malaria service delivery protocols and related Quality Assurance activities (training, post-training supportive supervision and monitoring) to be utilized by private outlets/providers affiliated with PSI programming in prioritized higher burden provinces.
  • Collaborate with PSI’s health services and product social marketing departments to inform efforts to improve access to malaria and related health services among workers at rubber plantations and other prioritized worksites.
  • Collaborate with PSI’s marketing department to design tools and other communication materials for forest goers as well as providers and outlet/worksite operators.
  • Travel regularly to the field (estimated 30-40% of time) to conduct quality assurance activities and to participate in local partnership building initiatives.
  • Build partnerships at both national and provincial levels and secure support and approval for private sector contributions to malaria elimination in prioritized areas. Present PSI data, tools and lessons to inform and contribute to stakeholder discussions.
  • Document malaria program results, activities and lessons in the format of quality reports.
  • Manage workplans and sub-award budgets with provincial partners to ensure compliance with global best practices and project priorities, and to ensure on-time, high quality results and reports.
  • Participate in other activities as requested.

Selection criteria:

  • Experience in malaria, nutrition, sanitation, dengue or other rural health programming.
  • Medical or MPH degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to build productive partnerships with stakeholders at national and provincial levels.
  • Excellent English including written English communication skills
  • Solution-oriented attitude & results-driven work style
  • Expertise/prior experience in private sector approaches to improving public health outcomes an added advantage
