Program Development Officer

Background: VECO Vietnam is developing its Mekong Regional Program (2014-2019) comprising two major strategies: Sub-sector Development (SSD) and Inclusive Modern Markets (IMM). We are currently seeking for a qualified professional for the position of PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT OFFICER. This post is initially for six months with possibility of extension. Preferred candidates are English-proficient foreigners already residing in Hanoi or Vietnam.

Position Summary: Ensure adequate funding of the Mekong Regional Program derived from multiple sources (such as philanthropic foundations/organizations, private companies, bilateral and multilateral development assistance facilities, consultancy & technical assistance firms, and individuals) while being consistent with the program, values and culture of the VECO organization, working in close collaboration and coordination with key staff of the Mekong Regional Office and Head Office in Belgium (for details of the Job Description and requirements please refer to:  http://www.veco-ngo.org/news/recruitment-program-development-officer

Expected starting date: December 2014

Basic requirements:

• Education/technical knowledge: Bachelor or Master in Communication, Marketing or other relevant fields; or equivalent experience in fund raising and resource generation.
• Language: Excellent working knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
• Experience: in successful (major donor) fundraising is a strong asset; in working and/or relating with development organisations; in working with the private sector in the region, and familiarity with their culture, language, and Corporate Social Responsibility practices are important assets.
