PATH is currently recruiting for a Program Associate to support multiple components of the Global Health Security (GHS) partnership.

In a new partnership aimed at ensuring and securing health for all, PATH recently joined the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other organizations to help advance the US government’s pledge to support, assist, and empower poor countries in anticipating, preventing, and overcoming infectious disease outbreaks. PATH’s Global Health Security (GHS) partnership, a 5-year effort funded by the CDC, will strengthen public health systems in Vietnam, Senegal, Tanzania, and DRC, building capacity to prevent, detect, and respond to emergencies of public health importance.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation and monitoring of project activities.
  • Provide support and liaise with partners to arrange meetings, workshops, field trips, travel, and other logistical requirements.
  • Assist with interpretation and translation of project documents and materials for both internal and external use.
  • Ensure formatting of documents and presentations meet PATH standards.
  • Coordinate with fellow GHS staff to organize, assemble, and distribute: reports, communication and advocacy materials, as well as other documents.
  • Assist with the development, coordination, and monitoring of subcontracts and sub-agreements, consultant agreements, work orders, purchase orders and other contracts.
  • Assist with the preparation and monitoring of project budgets.
  • Take notes at meetings and workshops and prepare/distribute timely minutes.
  • Contribute to multiple activities including project development, resource mobilization, and project report preparation.
  • Contribute to the design and development of monitoring and evaluation approaches and systems.
  • Contribute to the development and pursuit of new opportunities including: program design, proposal writing, and other related tasks.
  • Provide support for trainings and research activities.

Required Skills

  • Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail while maintaining quality of work under tight deadlines.
  • Command of MS Office suite, especially Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel. Familiarity with Access, SharePoint, Publisher, OneNote, and WebEx a plus.
  • Ability to think creatively to help organize information, manage workflow, and improve systems and processes.
  • Proven ability to be proactive and self-manage tasks while working in a team environment.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to take on a variety of assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English.

Required Experience

  • Experience working with Vietnam Government Organizations.
  • Experience working with Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs), other public health organizations, and donors.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Master’s degree in public health or business administration, plus a minimum of two year experience working in a public health program.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in Vietnam.
