Organization Development Consultant

WWF was one of the first International non-government organizations working in Vietnam. In 1985, WWF began working on a national conservation strategy and since then has worked closely with the Vietnamese Government on a diverse range of environment issues and implemented field activities across the country.

WWF-Vietnam is in a critical stage to build a stronger country office, to be able to align to and take opportunity from the change process undertaking globally in the WWF network. With financial and strategic support from WWF Germany, WWF-Vietnam developed and started to implement a 5 year Organization Development framework. WWF-Vietnam is looking for consultant and/or consulting company to support WWF-Vietnam in areas of organizational redesign, leadership development and change management.

Organization Development Consultant  (TOR attached for your reference)

Base location: Hanoi, Vietnam

Expected time: Oct 2017- June 2018 (part-time, mission-based, work scheduled in phases to deliver expected deliverable)

Scope of work:

  • Prepare the country structure’s change plan/proposal, get approval from OD Committee and launch out
  • Conduct analysis of the efficiency of current structure and management mechanism of WWF-Vietnam, with intensive consultation of and engagement with OD Committee, to redesign Vietnam Country Office structure with clear roles & responsibilities developed
  • Work with relevant Line managers/HR to review all Job description of key positions of WWF-Vietnam, evaluate positions’ requirements (qualification, competencies,…) against the proposed structure
  • Facilitate the mapping of Country management team and other key positions of country office, develop recommendations/plan for capacity building; phasing out and replacement recruitment, where required.
  • Review structure and ToRs for Country Management team and suggest an effective decision making process and internal communication for CMT
  • Design a development plan to improve the management & leadership skills for senior and mid-level management
  • Develop talent management plan and staff’s career development plan
  • Provide recommendation to improve internal communication through:
  • Map organisation's and functions' information needs and communication channels based on which review existing /develop new communication process and system
  • Develop mechanisms to enable a strong inter-team cooperation

Requirements:

  • An advanced degree in management, business administration or international development or a relevant field
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in Organizational Development, organizational effectiveness, learning and development, and/or human resource development, talent management
  • Ability to conduct needs assessment and gap analysis
  • High level negotiation, facilitation as well as interpersonal and influencing skills and the capacity to develop and maintain strong relationships within WWF and across the WWF Networks
  • Excellent written and spoken English is a must
  • Other key skills required: Strategic thinking, Leadership, Communication, Multitasking, Organization and Coordination
