National Professional Officer

The ILO Office in Vietnam invites applications from Vietnamese nationals for the following position: National Professional Officer, ILO Project on Promoting Decent Work for Persons with Disabilities

The National Professional Officer (NPO) is responsible for providing assistance to the Director and carrying out technical duties and general coordination functions at the Country with technical backstopping by the Senior Disability Specialist (SDS), Skills and Employability Department, ILO Geneva. The assignment is based in Hanoi for one year at NOA level, with the possibility of extension subject to satisfactory performance and fund availability.

Minimum Requirements:
- First level university degree in a relevant field;
- At least two years of professional experience at the national level in development, vocational skills training or vocational rehabilitation/disability, and  work with organizations of persons with disabilities is an advantage;
- Excellent command of one working language of the office and good knowledge of another official language of the duty station.
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as a member of a team.
- Good knowledge Office-wide activities and objectives; Knowledge of the Office’s financial rules and regulations;
- Good knowledge of programme and budget.
- Ability to interpret project information and to identify and analyze problems with implementation;
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Good drafting skills; Ability to clarify information; Good organizational skills.
- Ability to deal with people with tact and diplomacy and ability to supervise staff.
