Interpreter Vietnamese-English to join an International NGO working in an development project in Thanh Hoa province

I.BACKGROUND

Foundation CIDEAL is currently executing in cooperation with the European Union a 3 years project (March 2013- March 2016) in Thanh Hoa Province with focus on the 7 poorest districts: Lang Chanh, Thuong Xuan, Quan Hoa, Quan Son, Muong Lat, Nhu Xuan and Ba Thuoc. The project is being executed in partnership with Thanh Hoa Province Union of Science and Technology Associations (TUSTA) and with Women Union and Farmer Union in Thanh Hoa province.

II.DESCRIPTION OF ACTION

The action is aimed at strengthening 3 renowned organization networks of the civil society in the province of Thanh Hoa, in order to strength their capacities to meet the needs of their target population through effective development cooperation projects.

This goal is being achieving by supporting these three organizations in the identification, design, implementation and monitoring of development projects in order to improve the efficiency of their actions and to increase their access to national and international funding.

During the first year, the project was focused on technical assistance and training of the beneficiary networks at two levels: organizational, technical and managerial capabilities to better deal with development cooperation projects; and sectorial technical capabilities in the fields of rural development. During the second year the networks were supported in the designing of 20 micro-projects to reduce poverty and improve healthcare conditions within the most vulnerable groups concentrated in the 7 poorest districts in Thanh Hoa (Lang Chanh, Thuong Xuan, Quan Hoa, Quan Son, Muong Lat, Nhu Xuan va Ba Thuoc), and in the third year the project will be focused on the execution and monitoring of 10 selected microprojects, 5 center on poverty reduction and rural development and 5 in gender equality into the healthcare sector. These micro-projects will be implemented in the 7 districts mentioned above.

III.JOB DESCRIPTION

General duties/ responsibilities:

• Interpreter in project team meetings, workshop, meetings with partners, donors and other units in provincial and district level.
• Translation of specialized materials for agro-forestry, gender-health, project reports, article and other relevant documents for the project (English – Vietnamese; Vietnamese – English)
• Perform other duties in administrative issues as required by project team

Requirements

• High professionalism and discretion
• Graduate in English language will be highly value
• Experience as an interpreter and translator at least 2-3 years, special priority in development project or international organizations.
• Country of origin: Vietnam.
• Living in Thanh Hoa province will be prefer

Salary

Total gross salary will be EUR 4,800 for one year with a trial period no longer than 3 months during which the salary will be 85% of this amount. Contract according to Vietnamese labor law.
