Job title: Early Education Programs Specialist

Job Overview

The Early Education Programs Specialist is responsible for leading the replication of OneSky’s training programs with the objective to scale throughout Vietnam. OneSky’s nurturing responsive care training is designed to equip adult caregivers who care for migrant children including home-based care providers and migrant parents. Working together with OneSky Global and Local teams, the Early Education Programs Specialist will lead the replication and scaling of OS programs. The Early Education Programs Specialist will train, monitor, and supervise a team of home-provider and parent trainers to reach large numbers of adult caregivers and even larger numbers of young children who will be benefited indirectly through improved quality programs. The Early Education Programs Specialist will also support the replication of Early Learning Centres (ELC), which serve as model sites for teaching and learning.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development required; Masters degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education highly preferred
  • Deep knowledge of best practices for care and education of young children
  • At least three years experience working directly with young children
  • At least two years experience teaching and mentoring adults
  • At least two years of administrative experience managing a team of staff and/or a project or program
  • Proficient in English and Vietnamese speaking and writing
  • Keen observation and reflective skills with the ability to apply insights for program improvement
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Flexible
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others
  • Willingness and desire to expand professional knowledge
  • Ability to work evenings or weekend day
  • International experience preferred

Job Responsibilities

  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Program Director(s) and the ELC Specialist(s) in Vietnam, and OneSky’s Global Program team to lead a team of home provider and parent trainers that will bring OS training to scale
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Program Director(s) and the Early Learning Centre Specialist(s) in Vietnam, and OneSky’s Global Program team to support the replication of ELCs.
  • Conduct periodic training as well as regular on-site mentoring and teaching to promote trainers’ teaching and learning
  • Review curriculum material for translation and cultural appropriateness
  • Translate communication and curriculum materials occasionally from Vietnamese to English, or vice versa
  • Work closely with the Online Learning Manager (VN) and trainers to promote the use of OneSky’s 1BigFamilyLearning platform
  • Report and communicate regularly with the OneSky Global Programs team to evaluate and refine program quality and operations
  • Assist in the hiring of a growing team of qualified and passionate trainers
  • Assist to generate program reports to donors
  • Assist to create and monitor budgets
  • Read and share new research findings or practices that can be helpful to staff

The position will be based in Danang and will require frequent travel throughout Danang and rest of Vietnam.
