Director of the Non Governmental Organization FOUR PAWS Viet

FOUR PAWS VIET is a Vietnamese NGO founded in 2014. The operations in Vietnam are focused on but not limited to the building of a BEAR SANCTUARY in Ninh Binh Province. The BEAR SANCTUARY Ninh Binh is currently under construction in its first phase and is planned to enlarge over the coming years. The BEAR SANCTUARY Ninh Binh aims to rehabilitate bears from the bile industry as well as those confiscated from the illegal wildlife trade. FOUR PAWS VIET cooperates closely with the Government regarding the BEAR SANCTUARY as well with the Hanoi Wildlife Rescue Centre and Wildlife Conservation Projects of other NGO’s like ‘Education for Nature Vietnam’ (ENV) and ‘World Animal Protection’ (WAP).

FOUR PAWS VIET also runs environmental education workshops in Hanoi as well as an education program for the villages around Cuc Phuong National Park. The education program in Hanoi has been running for nearly a year and almost 300 students take part in the seminars.

FOUR PAWS VIET is a partner of FOUR PAWS INTRENATIONAL an animal welfare organization with the headquarter in Vienna, Austria, and has offices in 10 other countries. Founded in 1988, the organization strives for improvements in animal welfare through sustainable campaigns and projects. FOUR PAWS INTERNATIONAL focuses on animals that are directly under human influence.

Job Description

  • Leading the Non Governmental Organization FOUR PAWS Viet and its team
  • Successful implementation, coordination, management and running of the BEAR SANCTUARY Ninh Binh
  • Considering instructions of international experts from FOUR PAWS International
  • Implementation of administration and legal structures according the Vietnamese legislation
  • Installing and controlling the complete project management
  • Liaise with the regional and national authorities and other NGO’s
  • Planning and controlling the budget and financial expenditures of FOUR PAWS Viet
  • Working place: BEAR SANCTUARY Ninh Binh close to Cuc Phuong National Park

Requirements

  • Vietnamese citizenship
  • University studies and/or longstanding professional experience preferably in business economics, justice, education or science
  • Experiences in NGO work in Vietnam
  • Previous experiences on a leading position (min. 2 years)
  • Highly organised and strategic thinking
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational and administration skills
  • High dedication to law compliance
  • High level of responsibility and personal drive
  • Very good skills in negotiation and lobbying with private and public institutions
  • Very good written and spoken English
  • Computer literacy (Internet, MS Office requested, MS Project welcome)
  • Time management skills
  • Creative, enterprising person
  • Flexible/ready to move on location
  • Driving license
  • Dedication and passion for animal welfare and FOUR PAWS values and issues
