DEVELOPMENT AND FUNDRAISING MANAGER

Fellowship Type:     Full-time – Based in HCMC

Mission
The Development and Fundraising Manager will support our goals as a not-for-profit organization by helping to develop, organize and manage our fundraising and corporate partnerships development efforts in order to guarantee the sustainability and financial viability of our activities.

Role

  • Manage the accounts of different key corporate partners and individual givers of our organization, including strategic design for each relationship, follow-up and communication management, preparation of relevant presentations and partnership packages, planning of key meetings and support to the CEO in preparing for those.
  • Research and create a strategy for connecting with key partners and potential supporters and funders of our organization.
  • Write and manage grant applications and reports to support our organization’s efforts.
  • Plan and coordinate fundraising events and other events with our external partners.
  • Build and maintain a wide base of contacts and supporters.
  • Ensure the renewal of existing donations.

Because we are a start-up organization, every staff member in our organization is expected to pitch in as needed outside of his/her department as well.  This would include, for example: supporting our recruitment efforts, meeting with principals, and other strategies essential to the success of our mission.

2. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (business, HR or psychology majors preferred, but not essential)
  • Demonstrated results in achieving a high-impact goal
  • Experience managing projects and events
  • Fundraising and/or foundation experience strongly preferred
  • English fluency (strong verbal and written communication skills)

As an independent, locally led nonprofit organization, Teach For Vietnam enlists the most promising future leaders from multiple industries to create more educational opportunities for all children in Vietnam. Participants in the program, known as Fellows, serve as full-time teachers for two years in high need schools across Vietnam and commit to transforming the education outcomes of less-privileged schoolchildren through significantly improving their achievement and aspirations. In the long term, after 2 years of teaching and fitting in with the community, these former teachers from different industries will collectively create a wave of change to achieve education equity and excellence for all children in Vietnam.
