Good Neighbors is an international, non-profit humanitarian organization that plans, implements and raises funds for the provision of services in child education, community development, health, sanitation, and disaster relief projects. Currently Good Neighbors has been operating in 37 countries, supporting approximately 17 million people, including about 10 million children.

Good Neighbors International in Vietnam (GNI) is implementing Community Development Projects (CDP) based on child sponsorship in 3 provinces; Tuyen Quang, Hoa Binh, and Thanh Hoa. GNI is working in main areas as child sponsorship and education, water and sanitation, income generation, etc. in 6 CDPs and is managing about 10,000 sponsored children.

2. MAIN DUTIES

  1. For CCD Officer in Head Office, Hanoi

  • Design and develop programs related to Water & Sanitation, Health and Environment Sector in all CDPs;

  • Prepare, examine the progress of activities related to the construction of facilities  (Class 02000- POA), the construction activity facilities from special funds

  • Build up standards, guidelines, regulations related to sectors managed by the team; and instruct CDPs staff to follow;

  • Provide technical support to CDP during making plan and implementing activities of Water & Sanitation, Health, Environment Sectors annually in all CDPs;

  • Push CDPs to implement the activities timely and effectively; conduct - regular or when requested - field trip to monitor project activity related to sectors she/he managed;

  • Support to develop and implement Education programs;

  • Participate in design, monitor and evaluate project;

  • Report to Team leader about progress, result of project activity that managed or implemented;

  • Other tasks assigned by OD Manager and Team Leader.

  1. For CCD Officer in Tan Lac, Hoa Binh ( 1 year contract)

  • Directly monitor quality of construction implemented by GNI in the area of Tan Lac district, Hoa Binh Province (2017~2018);

  • Ensure building progress of the construction according to the approved progress;

  • Regularly report on the volume, progress of work, issues of construction and advise to the direct manager for timely guidance;

  • Coordinate with residents and project management board making proposal and detailed budget plan for activities related to Water and Sanitation;

  • Coordinate with village operating board, CDC making proposal for activities related to facilities and Water and Sanitation;

  • Coordinate with related partners implement community development activities approved to ensure the right progress and quality;  

  • Directly and regularly monitor, check and speed up the implementation of the above supporting activities in hamlet, village and commune;  

  • Implement other related tasks by the request of Project Manager and Team Leader in Head Office.  

3. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Education:

Graduate from university in the field of construction, environmental engineer, social work and other related fields.

Work experience:

  • At least 1 year relevant working experience.

  • Have experience in study, collecting and analysing data.

  • Experienced and possess project management skill: planning, implementation, checking and evaluation of outcomes of each activity.

Skills

  • Fluent in spoken and written English;

  • Proficient Office Computing;

  • Be good at organizational, planning;

  • Be good at organizing, team work and interpersonal skills;    

  • Be good at communication skills.

Attitude

  • Sociable, responsive, committed working with GNI at least 1 year.

  • Accountable
