Communications Consultant

FHI 360 is an international, non-governmental organization that works with the Vietnam Ministry of Health and other national bodies, as well as provincial and district-level health services, to promote the health and wellbeing of the Vietnamese people, particularly vulnerable and marginalized populations. FHI 360 is implementing programs with government and private sector partners that address HIV prevention, care & treatment, drug treatment policy and practice, clinical research for the development of vaccines and drugs, maternal and child health and nutrition, diagnostics, and laboratory services. We are currently seeking an experienced consultant to provide English editorial and communication services to the USAID SHIFT (HIV) project for approximately 30 days’ level of effort over a 5-month period (for which both the number of days and the period are expandable). The assignment would center on the development of project success stories but could also include report and presentation editing, training testimonials, scene setters for VIP field visits, video scripts, staff biographies, and other writing and editing tasks. The consultant would be assigned to FHI 360’s Hanoi office in Hoan Kiem.

Desired qualifications

  • Advanced degree in journalism, communication or equivalent training and experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in developing and producing publications or other relevant communication work. Familiarity with graphic design and interest in public health preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and editing skills in English
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to translate technical matter into information products that are accessible to a broader audience through various channels.
  • Skills in photography and video desirable
