Vacancy: Child Right Governance/Child Protection Project Officer
Based in Hochiminh City

We are looking for a Vietnamese national for the position of Child Right Governance/Child Protection Project Officer to work for our Southern Area Office. The successful candidate will be based in Hochiminh City.

Main Responsibilities: To oversee, monitor and provide technical support to project partners’/CSOs’ sub-agreement management and implementation of activities in project locations for vulnerable children and youth, particularly on LGBT street children and youth. The Project Officer (PO) will provide technical assistance to the local partner staff, Street Educators and Peer Educators in project locations and and CSOs to ensure that programming meets intended targets and results.

Key Competencies:

Essential

  • BA/MA Degree in a relevant discipline, e.g., social sciences, social work, public health
  • At least 2 years experience implementing and monitoring programming for most-at-risks persons, preferably street youth, and LGBT street children/youth.
  • Familiarity with peer approach/education, social work case management and counselling
  • Ability to learn quickly and respond to multiple demands
  • Positive attitude to working with children in schools, parents, school and communities leaders,
  • Knowledge of child participation, child right governance is a plus
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Solid understanding of the Vietnamese government system
  • Fluency in English speaking and writing.

Desirable

  • Strong facilitation and good interpersonal, communicational and organizational skills
  • Willingness to take on new challenges, to learn and share experiences with colleagues, partners, and supervisors
  • Excellent project management, communication and capacity building skills
  • Experience implementing and monitoring programming for CSOs
  • Experience managing partnership agreements.
