HIV-AIDS Technical Working Group

The HIV-AIDS Technical Working Group brings together participants from international and local non-governmental organisations, the Communist Party, the government of Vietnam, mass organisations, bilateral and multilateral donors, foundations, the United Nations, and People Living with HIV (PLHIV) groups to strengthen coordination and improve the response to HIV in Vietnam.

The HIV-AIDS Technical Working Group meets every two months, oversees nine subgroups and hosts monthly lunchtime seminars. The working group plays a significant role in facilitating information sharing and coordination among individuals and organisations working on issues affecting those at risk of, living with, and affected by HIV. It is registered with the NGO Resource Centre under the People’s Aid Coordinating Committee (PACCOM) arrangements and participation is open to all sectors, and to both organisations and individuals.

The current Chairperson of the HIV-AIDS Technical Working Group is is Simon Baldwin, Harm Reduction Advisor, Family Health International (FHI). The Co-Chairperson is Dr Hoang Tu Anh, Director, CCIHP (Centre for Creative Initiatives in Health and Population). UNAIDS Vietnam provides secretariat support.
