SECOND ANNUAL CIVIL SOCIETY CONFERENCE - DEVELOPMENT PHILOSOPHIES: LESSON LEARNED AND DIRECTION FOR VIETNAM’S FUTURE

The success or failure of a nation is largely dependent on its development philosophies, which will dictate the creation of its policy and institutions. Vietnam is not an exceptional case. The successes and failures, opportunities and challenges of Vietnam nowadays result from its choices in the past.

After 30 years since Doi Moi, there have been a great number of lessons that Vietnam could review and adjust its development philosophies. In order to help analyzing the successes and failures, challenges and obstacles, understanding the lessons for further development as well as role of civil society actors in this development process, the Second Annual Civil Society Conference in 2017 is dedicated to the topic of “Development Philosophies: Lesson Learned and Direction for Vietnam's Future”.
