Vietnam’s Southern Province Opens $1.6M Wastewater Treatment Plant

Binh Duong Environment - Water Drainage and Supply Co. has operated a VND28 billion ($1.6 million) wastewater treatment plant, the most modern of its kind in southern Vietnam, state media reported Thursday. This is part of the Finland-funded EUR6.6 million ($9.7 million) project to build the Nam Binh Duong solid waste treatment complex, said Nguyen Van Thien director of the company.  Located in the southern province of Binh Duong’s Ben Cat District, the plant has a capacity of 480 cubic meters a day, Thien noted, adding that wastewater after being treated will meet Vietnam’s environmental standards.
