Translators/ Interpreters

Worldwide Orphans Foundation’s mission is to transform the lives of orphaned children around the world. WWO is a U.S.-based NGO that provides medical and psychosocial care and treatment, and educational and arts programs for disadvantaged children.

They are seeking to compile a pool of  qualified translators/ interpreters who have experience and knowledge in social work, psychology, finance and HIV/AIDS.  This pool will be consulted as and when job opportunities arise.
TYPE OF WORK: PART TIME

SCOPE OF WORK
- Provide translation and interpretation
- Simultaneous interpretation – English to Vietnamese and vice versa;
- Liaison interpretation (informal small meeting)- English to Vietnamese and vice versa
- Translate documents from English to Vietnamese and vice versa
- Job duties will take place in a number of contexts, from translating documents from home to interpreting in informal and formal work meetings, discussions,  workshops, and conferences related to legal finance,  psychosocial,  and health sectors (especially HIV/AIDS).

SELECTIONS CRITERIA / QUALIFICATIONS
- Successful candidates selected for inclusion in the pool will have:
- Have experiences / training as interpreter
- An excellent command of English and Vietnamese;
- A good memory and the ability to learn fast;
- The skills to interact well with people and work as part of a team;
- The ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality;
- Flexibility to deal calmly with the unexpected and sometimes difficult situations;
- Dedication and commitment;
- Knowledge of social work and HIV/AIDS desired
- Confidence to speak in public
- A clear and pleasant speaking voice

EXPECTED OUTPUTS: 
- Translated documents that will be reviewed for accuracy, appropriate language and terminology use.
- Interpretation that is clear and accurate.
