National Policy Consultant

With projects and offices in Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam, WWF Greater Mekong Programme Office is working to conserve 600,000 km2 of mainland Asia's most biologically diverse, economically significant and threatened forests and rivers, which are found in the Mekong Region and home to more than 300 million people in Cambodia, China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam.

WWF Vietnam Country Programme is one country component of the WWF Greater Mekong and is the implementing arm for projects in Vietnam. Actually we are implementing nearly 30 projects on biodiversity conservation, natural resources protection and livelihood improvement, mainly in Central Annamites, Southern Annamites and the Mekong Delta. Their major activities focus on Freshwater, Forestry, Marine and Aquaculture, Agriculture and Agroforestry, Policy and Advocacy.

They are seeking a qualified Vietnamese national candidate to fill the position of NATIONAL POLICY CONSULTANT working full-time for WWF Vietnam Country Programme based in Ha Noi office

Main responsibilities:
The Consultant will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager and WWF supporting team in providing technical support on (1) organise and facilitate workshop to revise the legislation documents relating to rattan sector, (2) piloting legislative improvement options, (3) finalise legislative options. These activities implemented under the EC supported project” Establishing a Sustainable Production System for Rattan Products in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam” 

Key requirements:
- At least 7 years experience in Policy, 
- Experience as consultant in development project
- Experience in Policy review and legislation amendments. 
- Having technical background
- Education on political sciences, Governance, law or related fields.
- Minimum knowledge on issues and opportunities for Non Timber Forest Products, especially rattan and bamboo. 
- Good command of read/written and spoken Vietnamese and English
- Having experience in working for international organization is prefer
- Analysis, negotiation, facilitation, presentation skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English and native language;
- Interpersonal skills
