Médecins du Monde together with several local partners in Vietnam, contributes to decreasing HIV and AIDS prevalence among the most at risk people living in Hanoi and HCMC and contributes to a better quality of life for people living with HIV and AIDS. The supported network of 3 outpatient clinics (OPC) - 1 Hanoi (Tay Ho District) and 2 in Ho Chi Minh City (District 6 and District 9) - provides a comprehensive range of services including sexually transmitted infection diagnosis and treatment, HIV prevention, HIV counseling and testing, care and treatment including ART, and palliative care.

They are seeking a qualified and experienced Vietnamese candidate for the position of Medical Project Officer (MPO) – full time position, HCMC-based. Salary is based on competencies and competitive to other international NGOs.

Main Responsibility:
The main duty of the MPO is to ensure the good implementation and follow-up of the non-clinical tasks of the medical component of the program in D6 and D9. It includes palliative care, ART, laboratory, STI services, pharmacy and HBC for its medical aspects.
The MPO works under the direct management of the HCMC site coordinator, and the technical supervision of the medical coordinator.

Required qualifications:
- Vietnamese national / Medical University degree or advanced university degree of public health;
- Anterior clinical practice a must;
- Experience in public health / management, prior in HIV/AIDS program;
- Fluent ability in written and spoken English ;
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationship with local partners;
- Ability to work as part of a team;
- Analytical report writing skills, compilation of data, drafting project;
- Management skills focusing on participation, consensus-building and delegation (good communication and advocacy)
- Word, Excel, Power Point, Epi Info and Email computer skills
- Commitment to NGO philosophy

Working experiences:
- At least 3 years of relevant, proven working experience in HIV/AIDS prevention and/or care
- Knowledge of priority programmes and activities by other international donors, foundations and NGOs is an asset;
- Work experience with another international organization would be an asset.
