Japan to Grant $78,000 to Build School in Vietnam North Province

Japan will provide $78,000 in non-refundable aid to Vietnam’s mountainous northern province of Dien Bien to build a primary school in Ta Te commune, Dien Bien Dong district. An agreement to this effect was signed between Japanese Ambassador Mitsuo Sakaba and deputy chairman of the district people’s committee Vang A Ho on May 28, the Voice of Vietnam Radio said May 29. The Ta Te school will be a two-storey building with six classrooms to replace the old which is currently also used as a kindergarten. On the same day, a Japanese-funded secondary school namely Ang To was put into operation in Muong Ang district. The $86,000 school includes six classrooms and six boarding rooms. The school will help improve the educational environment in Muong Ang district and also deepen Japan-Vietnam relations, noted Ambassador Sakaba.
