Internship
The World Population Foundation (WPF) is a Dutch non-governmental organization aiming to improve sexual and reproductive health and promote sexual and reproductive rights in Asia, Africa and Europe. In 2000 WPF established a field office in Hanoi, Vietnam.
In Vietnam WPF focuses mostly on improving the sexual and reproductive health services and information for adolescents and young people, especially those from marginalized groups.
WPF Vietnam has an internship vacancy for a Vietnamese National who has a real interest in the sexuality education of young people, and who is dynamic and committed to the cause.
DURATION OF CONTRACT: from now until 31st December 2010. The candidate will work full-time according to WPF office hours.
TASKS: The intern will have the opportunity to learn across the range of functions carried out by an International NGO, including both Administration and Programmes Departments. This will be achieved by a combination of coaching and placements in different teams. Specific tasks will include (but may not be limited to): Logistics and administrative work; translation and interpreting from English to Vietnamese and from Vietnamese to English; assisting in all aspects of programme work, including project design and reporting; reception work; internet based research; processing and recording payments; maintaining a database. There will also be some fieldwork opportunities.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Good communicator
- Excellent English skills (written & spoken)
- Proven commitment to supporting disadvantaged people, especially young eg through voluntary work experience for an NGO
- Numerate
- Willing to travel to the field when necessary
- University graduate
