About Us - Community-Based and Responsible Tourism Network
In recent years community-based and responsible tourism network has received increasing interest from a range of stakeholders, including international and local development organizations, research institutions, governments of all levels, education and training institutions, the business sector, and local communities – either already involved in tourism or interested in pursuing community-based and responsible tourism.
Of key importance to successful community-based and responsible tourism development is effective stakeholder cooperation. The establishment of the community-based and responsible tourism network will provide a platform through which community-based tourism development can effectively expand and replicate, supported by the improved engagement and coordination of “local partners-practitioners”, and the enhanced availability of important information and source of contacts.
Our objectives:
- To raise awareness and promote community-based tourism as a strategic tool to improve rural livelihood and diversify Vietnam’s tourism products.
- To serve as a location for information specific and relevant to community-based and responsible tourism development and engage in further knowledge and information development
- To create a platform for interested parties or individuals to make contact and forge cooperation with partners
- To support the marketing and promoting of community-based tourism sites, community-based and responsible tourism concepts and community-based tourism interventions
- Lobby for policy and programming change to ensure greater local benefits from community-based and responsible tourism and the tourism sector in general
