Workshop on Strengthening cooperation between the Government and non-governmental organizations to respond to climate change

To mobilize all sources in the fight against climate change, the cooperation between the Government’s agencies and non-governmental organizations has increasingly played an important role. As such, under the instruction of Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Association (VUSTA) and within the frame of the project Capacity building on Climate change for Civil Society Organisations, the VNGO&CC network organized a workshop on Strengthening cooperation between the Government and non-governmental organizations to respond to climate change in collaboration with Vietnam River Network (VRN).

The third TOT course on climate change

From 15 to 19 March, 2010, the third TOT course on “Climate change adaptation” was held in Hanoi for staff of non-governmental organizations in Vietnam. These participants did attend the two previous courses on active training skills and climate change mitigation held on December, 2009 and January, 2010, respectively.
At ths course, topics on climate change adaptation were discussed among trainers and trainees. Other topics on integrating environmental and climate change factors into land use planning and sustainable development plan, as well as community based climate change adaptation were paid particular attention to.

ICI Call For Proposal on Climate Protection Projects in developing, newly industrialising and transition countries

The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) to launch the International Climate Initiative (ICI) in 2008. It strengthens Germany’s bilateral cooperation with developing, newly industrialising and transition countries in the field of climate protection and supports the ongoing negotiation process for a comprehensive global climate agreement.

Support for partner countries under the International Climate Initiative in 2010 and 2011 focuses on the following areas:

The United Nations has designated 2001-2010 as the "International Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence for the Children of the World" and 2005-2014 as the "United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development." Additionally, 2010 celebrates the International Year of Youth as well as the International Year for the Rapprochement of Cultures. Young people are encouraged to participate in these global initiatives and play a leading role in promoting peace and understanding among all cultures.

Workshop on Strengthening cooperation between the Government and NGO in coping with climate change on 26th March 2010

On 26th March 2010 the Workshop on Strengthening cooperation between the Government and NGO in coping with Climate change will be held in Hanoi.

The workshop is organized by Viet Nam Union for Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) in collaboration with the Vietnam River Network (VRN) and the Network of Vietnamese Non-Governmental Organisations & Climate (VNGO&CC).

From 15th to 19th  March 2010, the third Training of Trainers (TOT) training course on climate change with the topic “Climate change and mitigation” will hold at the guesthouse of the national assembly office in Hanoi. Trainees are the potential trainers who participated in the second TOT training course in January 2010.
