With the end-of-year Consultative Group (CG) Meeting to take place on December 4-5, the NGO RC is beginning preparations for the drafting of the INGO Statement, which is is distributed to all participants during the event and compiled in relation to the different sessions of the draft CG agenda. It forms the basis for input from the three INGO Representatives at the meeting, who are elected by members of the NGO RC. For more information on the meeting, current INGO Representatives

In news this week, the Government of Vietnam is currently in the process
of implementing various reforms and changes to the legal system of
Vietnam, which is intended to complement and facilitate development in
other sectors. Two interlinked resolutions on legal matters have been
launched, which form the key basis for the legal reform: Resolution 48
(Strategy for Development and Improvement of the Vietnam Legal System up
to 2010 and Vision up to 2020) and Resolution 49 (Judicial Reform
Strategy).

This week, the NGO RC would like to introduce the upcoming activities of a new initiative being launched through the centre - the ICT for Development Working Group (ICT4DEV WG). Having already developed a terms of reference (available at http://ngocentre.org.vn/node/7105), the group has been busy developing an activity plan for the rest of the year, which includes a series of workshops that will address various aspects of using ICT for development-related purposes. The workshops will be free and split into three different sections:

1. WEB 2.0
2. Communications Technology
3. Building websites
